    A canine officer helped capture a suspected thief at a Lowe’s store in Chico, Calif., according to an article in the Chico Enterprise-Record.

    A Chico police officer patrolling the area at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6, noticed a damaged chain-link fence in the store’s garden center. Merchandise was stacked nearby.

    Six Flags Entertainment Corp. has announced a new marketing relationship with Lowe's, which will be named the sponsor of opening weekend at participating Six Flags parks across the nation.

    Lowe's will be integrated into Six Flags' marketing efforts on both the national and local levels this spring. Additional support will include social media outreach, radio promotions and in-park giveaways.

    Two members of a retail theft ring charged with stealing more than $100,000 worth of merchandise from Lowe’s stores in five western states were convicted of multiple felony counts by a federal jury in the western district of Washington State. 

  • Lowe’s sees pro momentum

    Lowe’s says its pro business generates about 30% of its business, that’s up from previous estimates of about 25%. 

    Rick Damron, chief operating officer of Lowe’s, said the first quarter comp-store sales for the pro was about three times the comp number for the company.

    The company’s first quarter comps were up 0.9%.

  • MusselBound gets shelf space at Lowe’s

    The makers of the MusselBound Adhesive Tile Mat announced the product is now at Lowe’s stores nationwide. 

    The product, from Brewster, Massachusetts-based MusselBound, is for the contractor or DIY customer working on backsplash, countertop and shower wall projects. It’s described as an easily applied adhesive that can be affixed directly to drywall, cement board, plywood, old tile and existing laminate.
