  • PetersenDean Roofing & Solar promotes Wendi Zubillaga

    PetersenDean Roofing & Solar, a roofing and solar company based in Fremont, California, has promoted Wendi Zubillaga to builder group president.

    In her new role, Zubillaga will be responsible for the company's residential construction operations as the company expands into five new states. She will also provide sales and operational guidance.

  • Valspar hires Black & Decker exec

    Black & Decker's Les Ireland has joined Valspar as its newest EVP and president, Consumer Paint. He succeeds Howard Heckes, who is now EVP and president, Coatings.

  • Intech Equipment & Supply hires Dennis Alter

    Intech Equipment & Supply, a Phoenix-based roofing and insulation equipment provider, has hired Dennis Alter as southeast technical service manager.

    Alter will be based in the company's Madison, Ga. location and will support its five full service branches in California, Texas, Arizona, Missouri and Arkansas, as well as coverage for some other southeastern states.

  • Q&A: Meet HIRI’s new president

    The non-profit Home Improvement Research Institute commissions industry research for the benefit of its members and under the direction of its board of directors. That board is getting new leadership in 2016, and the head is Terri Hulesch, of MTD Products, a manufacturer of lawnmowers and outdoor power equipment.

    Hulesch was elected president during HIRI’s recent board meeting earlier this month in Chicago.

  • Stanley Black & Decker welcomes a new chairman

    Stanley Black & Decker will be getting a new chairman in 2017.

    George Buckley, current lead independent director, will become chairman effective Jan. 1, 2017.

    He will succeed John Lundgren, who retired as CEO in July after more than 12 years with the company, and has been serving as chairman until year-end. Lundgren will serve as a special adviser to the company through April 30, 2017.

  • Stanley Black & Decker names first Chief Technical Officer

    Stanley Black & Decker has appointed Mark Maybury to the newly created position of chief technology officer.

    Maybury joins the organization from The Mitre Corporation, where he held a variety of technology leadership roles for 27 years. In his new role with Stanley Black & Decker, Maybury will form a team to work across the company's businesses and functions to advise management on technological threats and opportunities, as well as provide access to all elements of the global technology ecosystem, the company said.

  • PPG board adds P&G experience

    Melanie Healey, former group president, North America, The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G), has been elected to join its board of directors, effective immediately.

    She will serve on the PPG Paints board’s audit committee and its technology and environment committee.

  • Jerry Howard to speak at NLBMDA Spring Meeting & Legislative Conference

    Jerry Howard, CEO the National Association of Home Builders, will speak at the Spring Meeting & Legislative Conference. He will join Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) at the Washington Briefing Breakfast April 1.

    Howard has worked as a legislative analyst at the National Association of Realtors, the chief lobbyist for the National Council of State Housing Agencies, and tax counsel  for the NAHB. He was promoted to NAHB's executive VP and CEO in February 2001.
