Valspar hires Black & Decker exec

Black & Decker's Les Ireland has joined Valspar as its newest EVP and president, Consumer Paint. He succeeds Howard Heckes, who is now EVP and president, Coatings.

Ireland has over 25 years of experience with global consumer products, culminating most recently in his role as president of North America for the Worldwide Power Tools and Accessories Group for Black & Decker Corporation. This included oversight for brands like Black & Decker, DeWalt, Porter Cable and Delta. He was with the company since 1986.

Ireland will be based in Chicago and will report to Hendrickson.
