Do it Best names a new Farm & Ranch exec

Do it Best Corp. has promoted Shane Burnworth to merchandise manager for the Farm & Ranch category, effective immediately.

Since joining the company in 2012, Burnworth has served as both an assistant and associate merchandise manager on the Farm & Ranch team.

In his new role, he will work closely with Do it Best member-owners in this growing category, bringing his extensive category experience, product knowledge and vendor and member relationships to bear on his new tasks.

In his new role, he will work closely with Do it Best member-owners in this growing category, bringing his extensive category experience, product knowledge and vendor and member relationships to bear on his new tasks.

Retail service center and drop-ship programs, vendor negotiations and relationship management will be just a few of the avenues he'll take to accomplish this. He will also develop planogram assortments, in-store promotions and out-of-store advertising/promotional strategies.

“I am very honored to lead our Farm & Ranch team and continue strengthening this category for our members,” Burnworth said. “Farm & Ranch covers a diverse and distinct mix of products, and I am incredibly excited about helping our members discover the tremendous sales and profit opportunities available.”

Burnworth is credited for helping to increase the breadth and scope of the category in recent years, sourcing and introducing product categories like sporting goods, hunting and ammunition, apparel and pet supplies.

He was also instrumental in developing a farm & ranch special exhibit that showed members how to effectively stock and display a range of products.
