  • Lowe’s installer thrives in Dayton

    Highfield Door Sales, a Kettering, Ohio, business that installs garage door openers for nine local Lowe’s stores, has purchased and is renovating a 20,000-sq.-ft. former wine and beer warehouse store to expand its operations, according to an article in the Dayton Daily News

    The family-owned business, which started in 2009 with just one employee, currently operates out of a leased 1,700-sq.-ft. building in this Dayton-area town.

  • Lowe’s to offer extra services to commercial customers

    Lowe’s has partnered with Deluxe Corp. in a deal that will offer Lowe’s commercial customers services like web design and hosting, search engine marketing and optimization, logo design, and emailing marketing. Deluxe’s products and services will be offered through LowesforPros.com website.

  • Lowe's posts double-digit earnings growth

    On Wednesday morning, it was Lowe's turn to deliver strong quarterly earnigns.

    And the Mooresville, North Carolina-based retail giant did just that. The company reported net earnings of $1.04 billion for the quarter ended Aug. 1, marking a 10.4% increase over the second quarter last year. Sales for the quarter were up 5.7% to $16.6 billion, as comparable-store sales were up 4.4%.

    "We were able to recover most of the outdoor product sales missed in the first quarter due to unfavorable weather conditions," said Robert Niblock, president and CEO.

  • Lowe's makes a case for the smart home

    Lowe's new Iris Smart Home solution is slated to be available in Lowe's stores and through Lowes.com in mid-2012.

    Iris is described as an affordable system that will give homeowners the ability to control and interact with their homes from anywhere. Energy and technology company Genability will be used by Lowe's in its new cloud-based smart home solution called Iris.

  • Lowe’s posts Q4 sales and earnings growth

    Mooresville, N.C.-based Lowe’s reported fourth quarter sales of $11.7 billion, up 5.6% from the same quarter last year, as comps increased 3.9%.

    The company posted fourth-quarter net earnings of $306 million, up 6.3%.

    Lowe's is offering pro tips to customers this holiday season on seasonally appropriate home improvement projects and home decor ideas.

    The retailer teamed up with expert do-it-yourselfers and designers to generate "holiday-inspired rooms," with inspiration for each part of the house.

  • Lowe's plans special events for Sanford, N.C., reopening

    Lowe’s of Sanford, N.C., which was devastated by a tornado on April 16, is planning a special reopening ceremony Thursday, Sept. 8.

    Joining local and corporate officials at the site will be Nascar driver Jimmie Johnson, gospel music singer and radio host Yolanda Adams and music legends Chairmen of the Board.

    Also on hand will be Mike Hollowell, the store manager who was credited for his clear leadership during the disaster.
