  • Siemens recalls Audible Fire Alarm Base

    Siemens is recalling about 9,000 units of its SBGA-34 Audible Fire Alarm Base due to a reported tendency for the alarm to fail, which poses a risk of injury and property damage.

    The recall affects the audible base that attaches to ceiling-mounted smoke detectors -- specifically, the Cerberus PRO models, the Desigo Fire Safety models, the H-Series and the Faraday 87XX-Series.

    The base is marked with part number S54370-F13 and date codes 0113 through 2314 printed on a white label on the back of the unit. It also bears the model number "MODEL SBGA-34."

    The company made over its Maytag Repairman; the new Maytag Man has a new role as the machine. He will be featured as Maytag appliances, “the human embodiment of the brand’s core values of reliability, durability and power,” according to the company.
