Siemens recalls Audible Fire Alarm Base
Siemens is recalling about 9,000 units of its SBGA-34 Audible Fire Alarm Base due to a reported tendency for the alarm to fail, which poses a risk of injury and property damage.
The recall affects the audible base that attaches to ceiling-mounted smoke detectors -- specifically, the Cerberus PRO models, the Desigo Fire Safety models, the H-Series and the Faraday 87XX-Series.
The base is marked with part number S54370-F13 and date codes 0113 through 2314 printed on a white label on the back of the unit. It also bears the model number "MODEL SBGA-34."
The audible bases in question were sold via Siemens sales offices, authorized distributors and installers between Feb. 2013 and June 2014.
So far, there have been no incidents or injuries reported.
