2023 has included 9 acquisitions for Beacon.

Beacon has put an exclamation mark on what’s been an active year for the roofing building materials distributor.

Today the company announced that it has opened five new locations in Austell, Georgia; Marquette Heights, Illinois; Des Moines, Iowa; North Charleston, South Carolina; and Bastrop, Texas.

The Herndon, Virginia-based company said the new branches will serve residential roofing, commercial roofing, and waterproofing contractors.

Beacon has opened 26 new locations and completed 9 acquisitions in 2023. Last month the company opened two new branches California and Texas.

The Austell branch is in the metro Atlanta market and is Beacon’s 10th branch in the area.

“The population continues to grow west of the city, and we have the residential and commercial roofing products and services to support contractors as they grow their businesses,” said Lynn France, Beacon regional vice president, Southeast.

The Marquette Heights, branch is in the metro Peoria market. “We are pleased to begin serving roofing contractors in the Peoria area. Our product range and the opportunity to use Beacon PRO+, our industry-leading app, will help busy customers who are on the go,” explained Larry Augello, Beacon regional vice president, north central.

The Iowa opening marks the second Beacon branch in the market. Beacon said the branch will be more accessible for serving customers in the city’s downtown area and is conveniently located off Interstate 235.

Beacon continues to strengthen its waterproofing division through acquisitions and new openings this year.

In North Charleston, the new location is focused on servicing waterproofing customers. The branch is fully stocked with specialty products and staffed by a technically trained team to assist with projects that require sealants, coatings, air and vapor barriers, and other waterproofing products necessary for construction, according to Alan Ridge, Beacon’s division vice president, waterproofing.

Bastrop is located at little more than 30 miles southeast of Austin with the branch being the company’s 6h in the area. “The Beacon OTC® network works very well in this area allowing us to differentiate on service and product range making our customer experience stand above the competition,” commented Peter Lippert, Beacon regional vice president, Texas.

Altogether, Beacon operates more than 500 branches in all 50 U.S. states and 6 Canadian provinces.

Beacon posted a company record third quarter in November, with sales growing 7% to $2.58 billion in the third quarter from sales of $2.42 billion in the third quarter last year.

During the third quarter, Beacon’s residential roofing product sales increased 13.6%.
