SRS Distribution expands in New York
SRS Distribution Inc. has acquired Florence Corporation and Amagansett Building Materials.
Florence and Amangansett - a single company - distributes building products, including lumber, roofing, siding, windows and doors, and other related products, with five locations throughout the Long Island area.
The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Based in Huntington, N.Y., the company was founded in 1946 by Arthur Florence and is run today by Florence’s grandson, Patrick Droesch, and Patrick’s brother-in-law, Rob Holden.
Droesch and Holden will continue to lead the company’s team under the Florence and Amagansett banners, ensuring continuity and consistency for customers, suppliers, and employees, SRS said.

Tinker noted that the company is a “perfect fit” for the existing SRS presence on Long Island.
SRS operates National Building and Roofing Supplies locations in Farmingdale and Patchogue, N.Y.

Founded in 2008 and based in McKinney, Texas, SRS operates more than 600 locations in 44 states. SRS Distribution is a portfolio company of Leonard Green & Partners, L.P. and Berkshire Partners LLC.
