  • Versatex adds ‘amber’ to its Canvas T&G series

    Versatex Building Products, LLC, is adding a fourth realistic woodtone finish for 2018.

    A shade called Amber will be added to Versatex’s Canvas Series of premium PVC surfaces for porch and veranda ceilings.

    Introduced earlier this year, the Canvas Series was developed for projects that call for the classic look of hardwood overhead, without the mess of onsite finishing or the cost of old-school installation, the company said. Other tones in the series include black cherry, walnut, and tropical macore.

  • S&P raises Home Depot's credit rating

    Citing improved performance, Standard & Poor's announced Tuesday that it is raising its corporate credit rating for Home Depot from "A-" to "A".

    Additionally, the credit ratings agency upped its short-term ratings from "A-2" to "A-1". These increasingly investment-grade ratings point to confidence in the company's ability to meet its financial commitments, with a stable outlook on the ratings.

  • True Value recognizes Cleaver Farm & Home

    Chanute, Kan.-based Cleaver Farm & Home was recognized by Chicago-based True Value Co. as one of 13 “Best Hardware Store in Town” honorees.

    Accepting the award at a True Value hosted ceremony were Chris and Jason Cleaver. 

    The retailer converted to the co-op’s Destination True Value format in spring 2013, and the owners see continued community support along with opportunities for growth. 

    The farm-and-ranch segment has been an area of focus for the wholesaler, which describes the segment as its fastest growing.

  • Black & Decker gets into the pizza oven game

    Spectrum Brands is unleashing a new pizza oven bearing the Black & Decker brand at this year's International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago.

    The 5 Minute Pizza Oven and Snack Maker uses high heat to crisp and cook pizza quickly while sealing in moisture.

    The oven is capable of preheating and cooking 2 to 3 pizzas in the time it takes to preheat a conventional oven, the company said.

  • Villeroy & Boch shows off new product lines

    Villeroy & Boch has a number of new product lines coming this spring after their official unveiling at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Las Vegas.

    The new lines include Architectura, Loop & Friends and Levanto. Additionally, the company also launched new products for the Perception/Perception+ collection.

    Particularly popular at KBIS were two new Loop & Friends wellness bathtubs, according to the company. The tubs feature a 17.3" height for easier exiting and edges that double as shelving.

  • L&W Supply scoops up NOLA ceilings company

    Wallboard and building products distributor L&W Supply Corporation has acquired Metairie, Louisiana-based Acoustical Ceiling Supply Company (ACS).

    As the first acquisition for the company after being purchased by ABC Supply last November, this purchase will expand L&W's footprint to 137 branches across 35 states.
