  • Home Depot hosts lighting showcase

    New York -- The Home Depot is spreading the word about energy-efficient lighting options.

    During a New York made-for-media event, the retailer and a handful of its vendors retrofitted a hotel suite to showcase new light bulb technologies in a home setting.

    The New Lighting for New Savings: Light Bulb Showcase 2012 featured products from Philips, Cree, Lighting Science Group, TCP and Lutron.

    After asking the Chamber of Commerce to reconsider its support for the American High-Performance Building Coalition lobby (AHPBC), Skanska USA has resigned from the board and removed its funding in protest of the Chamber's complicity in effectively curbing LEED sustainable building operations.

  • GAF hits 300 mark with Green Roofer program

    GAF, one of North America’s largest roofing manufacturers, now has more than 300 professional roofing contractors who have qualified as members of the Certified Green Roofer program. Launched in 2010 and developed with partners like the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Construction Materials Recycling Association (CMRA), the Certified Green Roofer program has paid more than $60,000 in incentive dollars to contractors for recycling. 

  • Acuity Brands sheds lumens on energy savings

    Increased energy savings is the slogan for Lithonia Lighting’s P Series LED Downlighting Moducles from Acuity Brands.

    The P Series LED Downlighting Modules have a bar-setting efficacy of 70 lumens per watt, which is more than 86% more efficient than incandescent luminaires. They are designed for general-purpose lighting in residential and light commercial applications.
