$3 million in solar rebates still available this year in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania governor Tom Corbett joined the Department of Environmental Protection in reminding residents to take advantage of the nearly $3 million remaining in solar rebates for the year.
Under the agency's Sunshine Solar Program, homeowners and small business owners are eligible for rebates of up to $7,500 and $52,500 for solar electric projects, respectively, until the program ends on Dec. 31 or when funds run out. Solar hot water projects can be reimbursed for up to $5,000 and $50,000, respectively.
According to DEP Acting Secretary Chris Abuzzo, the program has led to an approximately $4.5 million reinvestment in the local economy.
Funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. More information can be found on the DEP's Sunshine Solar home page.
