ABC Supply announced it is making another expansion move in Canada while entering the Ontario market.

The largest North American wholesale distributor of roofing and building materials said it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Herman’s Supply Company.

Herman’s Supply Company was founded by Herman and Anne Schrompf in 1969 in St. Catharines, Ontario. Since then, the company expanded to 11 branches across Ontario and added a 12th location in West Seneca, New York, which serves the Buffalo market.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. ABC Supply said that it expects the transaction to close on April 8.

“Herman’s Supply Company’s commitment to unparalleled service has earned it generations of loyal customers,” said ABC Supply Chief Operating Officer Mike Jost. “We look forward to welcoming their dedicated associates to our ABC Supply family and continuing to build a legacy of exceptional support across Ontario.”

The West Seneca, N.Y., location will become part of ABC Supply's U.S. operations while the Ontario locations will operate as part of ABC Supply's Canadian division.

Near the end of last month, ABC Supply acquired the assets of All Canadian Building Products in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. The acquisition marked the eighth company location in British Columbia and the second in Surrey for ABC Supply.

ABC entered Canada in November 2022 when it acquired the Monarch Group of Companies, a supplier of siding, roofing, and exterior building materials throughout Alberta.

In August 2023, ABC grew its Canadian presence with the acquisition of Cedar Grove Building Supply in British Columbia.

Located in Beloit, Wisconsin, ABC Supply is privately held and operates more than 970 locations in the United States and Canada.
