A day removed from announcing that it has acquired Zy Tech’s floor and roof truss manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas, US LBM has struck again.

The Atlanta, Georgia-based lumber and building materials distributor announced this morning that it has acquired Holderness Supplies, a manufacturer of structural building components and distributor of engineered wood products in Arizona.

Located in Tucson, Holderness Supplies operates an 11-acre facility where it manufactures floor and roof trusses and distributes specialty lumber, framing materials, and engineered wood products to builders across Arizona.

According to its website, Holderness has been serving the Tuscon market, and beyond, for more than 65 years.

With the acquisition of Holderness Supplies, US LBM now operates eight component manufacturing locations in Arizona.

US LBM said that Rich Alejos, who has led Holderness since 1995, will continue to oversee day-to-day operations.

"The Holderness Supplies team has a history of delivering quality products while providing exceptional customer service," said US LBM President and CEO L.T. Gibson. “Holderness Supplies is a valuable addition to US LBM, complementing our existing operations and further expanding our manufacturing capabilities in Arizona, which continues to be a strong region for new construction.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Whelan Advisory acted as financial advisor to Holderness Supplies.

This latest acquisition marks the latest in a series of truss plant moves made by prodealers in recent days.

Yesterday, 84 Lumber announced that it will open a new truss manufacturing plant in the greater Atlanta market. The facility is expected to be fully online before the end of the month. The Eighty Four, Pennsylvania-based prodealer also plans to open a new truss facility in Bakersfield, California.

On Nov. 1, Mead Lumber revealed that it had purchased Component Manufacturing Company and Reaves Buildings of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Component Manufacturing Company is a truss fabrication facility that manufactures trusses, wall panels, and floor joists. Reaves Buildings designs, builds and supplies engineered buildings.
