Plurality of respondents says D2C is growing, and it's a problem.
Call It “direct-to-consumer” or call it “retail bypass.” Either way the trend of manufacturers bringing products to market directly to the end-user represents a disruptive alternative to the traditional manufacture-distributor-retailer flow of home improvement products.
Technology can be a lubricant to the D2C trend, as influencers and Instagram and other digital platforms offer inroads to the consumers’ digital wallet.
