Dallas, Texas –It was a day of low scores (16 under won first place) and high hospitality. And at the conclusion of the second annual Nation’s Best Cares Classic, an oversized novelty check representing $250,000 was presented to Arrivederci ALD, a foundation committed to finding a cure for adrenoleukodystrophy, a rare and sometimes deadly genetic condition.

Host Chris Miller, CEO of Dallas-based Nation’s Best, thanked the sponsors for contributing at a high level to the cause.

“It’s a foundation near and dear to my heart, personally,” Miller said, describing the foundation’s founder, Frani Broussard Denenburg, as a close friend whose family continues to experience the challenges of ALD first hand.

In her remarks during the ceremony, Denenburg thanked the sponsors and shared stories of successful surgeries, as well as new developments in the field of ALD research.

“I’m excited to be able to help raise this kind of money for such a great cause,” Miller said. “This is our second year in a row to raise $250,000, and we look forward to growing that number and eradicating this disease.”
