McCoy's names new regional manager

McCoy’s Building Supply has promoted Mike Cook to regional manager. 

A 13-year veteran of the LBM dealer, Cook will oversee 12 locations in the greater Houston market.

Cook is a graduate of Texas State University and began his career with McCoy’s through the company’s Management Development Program while working at the Tomball, Texas store. 

McCoy’s said Cook honed his customer-centric approach to the building supply industry and served as assistant manager at several locations before being promoted to store manager. Most recently, he was the store manager in Cleveland, Texas, leading that team since 2014.

“I love connecting with our customers and our teams,” said Cook. “I was blessed to spend nearly a decade in Cleveland with our customers and I’m excited to meet even more customers throughout the entire region while working with our great teams.”

Founded in 1927 and based in San Marcos, Texas, McCoy’s Building Supply operates 85 stores, 3 distribution centers, and 2 millwork facilities in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. 

“I’m so excited for Mike to take on this new role,” said Ron Van Winkle, vice president of operations. “His ability to grow and serve our business while also expanding his leadership skills made him the right choice for this new opportunity. I know he will be a great mentor for our store teams.”

McCoy’s employs more than 3,000 associates and serves builders, contractors, ranchers, and do-it-yourselfers of all skill levels.
