  • Lowe’s creates two new executive positions

    Mooresville, N.C.-based has Lowe’s created two new positions for high-ranking executives. The promotions for Greg Bridgeford and Rick Damron are described by the company as an effort to support the retailer’s customer experience goals.

    The promotions will take effect May 5.

    With more than 30 years of experience in home improvement, Bridgeford, 57, will become chief customer officer, responsible for creating experiences that will best serve customers and differentiate Lowe's from its competitors.

  • Lowe's reports solid results in Q4

    Lowe’s reported net earnings of $322 million for the quarter ended Feb. 3, a 13.0% increase over the same period a year ago. 

    Sales for the fourth quarter increased 11.0% to $11.6 billion, up from $10.5 billion in the same period a year ago. 

  • Lowe’s partners with NKBA for training program

    Lowe's has announced that it will partner with the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) in order to launch a program to educate and train Lowe's employees who specialize in interior kitchen and bath projects.

    Because of this membership and training program, Lowe's employees who work in the kitchen cabinets, countertops and fashion plumbing departments and as interior project specialists will have the opportunity to earn NKBA certifications.

  • Lowe’s Iris gets boost from State Farm

    Coupons for Iris from Lowe's, the smart home program, are reaching State Farm insurance customers thanks to a deal between the insurance and retail giants. 

    In mailings to its customers, State Farm has included coupons good for $10 discounts for Iris Safe & Secure Kits and $25 discounts for Iris Smart Kits. State Farm is further incentivizing the systems with up to 2% discounts on homeowners insurance for those who have the systems in their homes.

  • Woman arrested with purse full of power tool accessories

    Myrtle Beach, S.C., police arrested a woman at a local Lowe’s store after she was detained by a loss prevention officer with a purse full of power tool accessories, according to a report by WMBF-News.

  • SYNLawn artificial grass finds space at Lowe's

    Dalton, Ga.-based SYNLawn has begun selling its brand of residential synthetic grass at 463 Lowe's stores.

    The new program is a continuation of a trial offering conducted in Lowe’s stores in five states earlier this year.  SYNLawn will provide rolls of synthetic turf in the most popular sizes, along with basic installation tools for Lowe’s customers who need smaller amounts of turf and want to install it themselves.

  • Lowe's pledges $500,000 to First Response Team of America

    The Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation is granting $500,000 to the First Response Team of America, a nonprofit disaster response organization.

  • Lowe's breaks ground in Sparks, Nev.

    According to an article in the Reno Gazette-Journal, Lowe's began construction of a store at the Sparks Marina complex.

    The Lowe's store will be the fourth in the region, with others located in Reno, Carson City and another in Sparks.

    Construction of the 130,000-sq.-ft. home improvement center is expected to begin in about a week, the paper reported.
