LBM Advantage names new IT director

Current IT director Rich Walker is retiring from the cooperative this year.

LBM Advantage, the lumber and building materials cooperative, has hired Rob Andren as its new information technology director. 

Andren will based at LBM Advantage’s New Windsor, New York headquarters and oversee technology operations for all four of the cooperative’s locations. 

LBM Advantage said the new IT director will implement new policies and systems, analyze technology needs, and manage all information technology staff members. He will report to Dave DeJoy, LBM Advantage’s CFO.

The director joins LBM Advantage with over 25 years of information technology experience having most recently worked as the Software Engineering Manager for Sunbird Software and formerly as Director of Information Technology for EXSIF  Worldwide.  

Andren will work alongside current information technology director, Rich Walker, who announced he plans to retire in 2024. 

“We are excited to draw upon Rob’s experience and talents to lead technological growth in our organization and to provide a solid infrastructure that will efficiently serve both our staff and our member organizations,” DeJoy said.

LBM Advantage operates locations in New York, Michigan, North Carolina, and Texas.

Regarding his new position, Andren said, “I look forward to collaborating with the talented team at LBM Advantage! I am also excited for the opportunity to partner with our members, employees, and suppliers to help leverage technology to create a  competitive advantage for our members.”

The cooperative operates locations in New Windsor; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Smithfield, North Carolina; and Conroe, Texas, while offering national programs with regional expertise.
