  • Home Depot offers a holiday sneak peek

    Highlights of the Home Depot fourth-quarter merchandise lineup include a remote-controlled, pre-lit Christmas tree that shines in 56 light and color options. The season will also bring stocking stuffers like carbide-tipped reciprocal saw blades from Diablo and 21 new Kohler SKUs.

    "We look forward to driving excitement this holiday season," said Ted Decker, executive VP merchandising, during the Atlanta-based retailer's third-quarter earnings call.

    All merchandise departments posted positive comps, Craig Menear told analysts during yesterday's earnings call. Even those that fell below the company average -- millwork, flooring, pluming, outdoor garden, building materials, hardware and tools -- still performed positively.

    Lumber Liquidators has embraced The United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation's Energy For Life Walkathon series, a campaign aimed at raising awareness of the disorder.

    The retailer will be sustaining its sponsorship of the Foundation, a partnership it began in 2013 as part of its philanthropic program, Lay it Forward. It has donated tens of thousands of dollars toward the effort since.
