Herrington elected Chairman of LBM Advantage

LBM Advantage announced that Richard Herrington of Ed Herrington Inc., (Herrington’s) has been elected chairman of the board. 

Herrington served as the vice-chairman for the last two years. 

The official announcement was made at the Feb. 27 shareholders meeting at LBM

Advantage’s 2023 Annual Buying Show at the Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

Herrington succeeds Bill Newman of Oxford Lumber Co. in Oxford, Alabama. Newman served as chairman since 2021.

Chris O’Neill of Kellogg Supply Co. in Manteo, North Carolina was also elected vice-chairman.

Herrington is a fourth-generation owner and vice president/general manager at his organization. 

Based in Hillsdale, N.Y. in Columbia County, and near the Massachusetts border, Herington’s provides lumber, building materials, and services through 8 locations in New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.

“We are grateful to Bill Newman for his insightful and progressive leadership as chairman of LBM Advantage, leading our company to two very successful and record years,” said LBM Advantage President and CEO, Steve Sallah, noting that Newman will continue to serve on the board.

On March 1, Herrington participated in his first LBM Advantage board meeting as chairman.

“We look forward to working with our new Chairman of the Board Richard Herrington,” Sallah said. “His leadership and experience will be critical to the successful management of LBM Advantage over the next two years.”

LBM Advantage is a member-owned forest products and building materials cooperative comprised of the industry’s premier independent LBM retailers. The co-op operates four locations in New Windsor, New York; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Smithfield, North Carolina; and Conroe, Texas, offering national programs with regional expertise.
