Wendy Stine named president at Stine LLC

The Sulphur, La.-based pro dealer and home center announces a promotion.

Wendy Stine, granddaughter of Stine Lumber founder J.W. Stine, has been promoted to the office of president of Stine, LLC, the Sulphur, La.-based lumberyard and home center company. Stine operates 11 locations in Louisiana and Mississippi.

CEO Dennis Stine said: “Wendy Stine has exemplified true leadership in the many roles she has served in her 30-plus year career at Stine.”

Wendy Stine began her career in 1988 working at the DeRidder Stine Lumber store while in high school. She graduated from McNeese State University in 1994 where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.

Throughout her 33 years with the company, she has held many roles: Manager of the DeRidder store from 2008-2012, Corporate Purchasing Buyer from 2012-2019 and most recently, Director of Merchandising from 2019-2021.

Wendy has also managed special projects for the company such as Hurricane Gustav relief efforts, Hurricane Maria US Virgin Islands Rebuild Program and co-coordinator of the Stine Expo.

She is also active in community efforts serving on the Board of Directors for Chamber SWLA and Alliance Foundation, as well as the Southwest Louisiana Better Business Bureau. She is a past board member of the Greater Beauregard Parish Chamber of Commerce.

She currently serves as a member on the ACE Hardware Paint Retail Input Team and is an advisor to the board for Allied Building Stores.

In 2019 Wendy was named one of the Top Women in Hardware & Building Supply by Hardware + Building Supply Dealer.  She also received the honor of DeRidder Junior Women’s Club Woman of the Year in 1999.

Wendy also serves as president of the Stine Family Council and on the Stine Board of Directors.

Dennis Stine will continue to serve Stine as its CEO while Wendy Stine assumes the responsibilities of president.  Following his position as Commissioner of Administration for the state of Louisiana under Gov. Charles “Buddy” Roemer, Dennis has served in several offices of Stine, including President and CEO since the late 1990s.

“I am confident that Wendy will lead our company with passion holding true the vision, mission, and values of our company,” Dennis Stine said.  “I am happy for her and excited for our future.”
