At Stine, a very pink October

4/27/2020
Stine Home & Yard is all about pink in October.  That’s because October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. The family-owned home improvement stores in Louisiana and Mississippi are offering limited edition American Cancer Society pink buckets at the same price as Stine’s popular green bucket. Plus, for each pink bucket sold in October, Stine will donate $2 to the American Cancer Society (ACS.)

“Cancer touches so many lives,” says Stine Marketing Director Jeremy Stine, “and we want to do our part in helping to find a cure.”

In addition to the 5 gallon buckets, Stine is also offering Pink Paper Buckets at check-out lanes to anyone who would like to join the “Pink Bucket Brigade” and help “extinguish” cancer.  Supporters of ACS can write their name on the paper bucket when making a donation of at least $1. The program runs through Oct. 31.

In addition to helping fund research on a national level, proceeds go to local ACS programs that offer financial assistance for travel and lodging to patients who have to travel more than 50 miles for treatments.

People may also notice more men wearing pink in various communities in October as a part of the national Real Men Wear Pink campaign.  Jeremy Stine has made the pledge to wear pink every day in October as one of 26 Real Men Wear Pink candidates in Southwest Louisiana. “I’m hoping to raise awareness and money to support the American Cancer Society's mission to save more lives from cancer than ever before,” Stine said.
