U-C Coatings buys Color Putty
Color Putty from Monroe, Wisconsin joins the U-C Coatings family.

U-C Coatings, LLC based in Buffalo, New York, has acquired Color Putty in Monroe, Wisconsin, to bring more solutions to the building products market.

“Color Putty is a great addition to U-C Coatings that will expand our specialty offerings, especially to the contractor and DIY markets,” said Eric Degenfelder, CEO of U-C Coatings.

Color Putty produces putties used for filling nail holes or imperfections in wood paneling, furniture and cabinetry. U-C Coatings provides products to address surface protection, beautification, restoration and repair needs. 

“The acquisition continues our emphasis on environmentally friendly, easy to use, high performance products. We look forward to continuing and strengthening the support to the Color Putty distributors and customers.” said Degenfelder.

Toney Priewe, president of Color Putty, said the merger has many benefits which will enable the Color Putty brand to expand.

Toney said: “We are happy to partner with U-C Coatings. Color Putty is considered ‘The Original’ wood filler by generations of professionals. We are confident U-C Coatings will continue to provide the highest standards that our customers have come to recognize with Color Putty.”

The firm said this combination brings access to a wider range of products, along with bigger sales and service teams, increased technical capabilities and improved supply capabilities.

The U-C Coatings portfolio of products includes the Abatron line of epoxy based wood and concrete repair materials and the Seal-Once line of eco-friendly, water-based sealers for protection and beautification of wood and concrete.

The company also offers Anchorseal end sealers, Fence Guard stain for softwood fences, and Gempaint for lumber branding. The Contechem product line includes Britewood for mold and sapstain control in wood processing applications, said the company.
