In Tennessee, Tractor Supply opens store 2,000

The farm and ranch retailer commits $20,000 to 10 community organizations.

Tractor Supply Company reached a milestone in its home state with the opening of its latest location in White House, Tenn.

The opening marks Tractor Supply’s 2,000th store.

During a store opening event, guests had the opportunity to see Tractor Supply CEO Hal Lawton chainsaw a fence as an alternative ribbon cutting. 

Tractor Supply also hosted a celebration at the White House Tractor Supply store that featured live entertainment, giveaways, and special events.

Several key leaders attended the event and spoke at the fence-cutting, including:

  • Bill Lee, Governor of Tennessee
  • Bill Hagerty, U.S. Senator for Tennessee
  • Mike Arnold, Mayor of White House
  • Hal Lawton, Chief Executive Officer at Tractor Supply
  • Mary Winn Pilkington, Senior Vice President, Investor & Public Relations at Tractor Supply
  • Christi Korzekwa, Senior Vice President, Marketing at Tractor Supply
  • Latoya Ball, Store Manager at White House Tractor Supply

Along with touring the new store, Lawton presented Lee with a special plaque recognizing the governor's efforts during the pandemic.In conjunction with the opening, Tractor Supply announced it has committed $20,000 in donations to 10 community organizations, including Friends of the White House Library, Christmas for the Children, Safe Harbor Sanctuary, Humane Society of Sumner County, White House Heritage High School FFA, White House High School FFA, Robertson County 4-H, Sumner County 4-H, Women Veterans of America  Chapter 20 (Nashville), and Stars for Stripes.

Tractor Supply invited the White House and surrounding communities to attend the event on Dec. 4, which included a special performance by local band, Eli and Friends, who covered traditional bluegrass country music. 

The Brentwood, Tenn.-based retailer said the store will serve the needs of homeowners, livestock and pet owners, gardeners, hobby farmers, and others in the region.

Additionally, the new store will feature a Garden Center that will offer depth and variety beyond Tractor Supply’s traditional gardening basics including a broad assortment of annuals, perennials, shrubs, decorative accent plants, fruit trees, herbs, and vegetables. 

Customers will also recognize a variety of products from national brands such as Scotts, Miracle-Gro and Bonnie Vegetables, as well as offerings that will appeal to professional landscapers. 

At the end of September, Tractor Supply operated 1,967 stores in 49 states including 12 openings in the third quarter. The company also operates 177 PetSense stores in 23 states.
