  • Buy.com adds home improvement products

    Buy.com, a leading e-commerce marketplace, has expanded into the home improvement arena through a partnership with CPO Commerce, a leading supplier of new and reconditioned tools and other home channel products. Customers can now shop for more than 6,000 hammers, drills, saws and other tools, all with free shipping, through Buy.com's CPO Outlets store online section. Products also include floor care, ceiling fans, saws, generators, lawn care products, pressure washers and compressors.

  • STAFDA turns on new website

    The Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association (STAFDA) has launched a new-and-improved website at stafda.org.

    The Elm Grove, Wis.-based association's new site offers improved navigation and mobile device compatility. It went live on June 23.

    STAFDA president Mike Kangas of Alaska Industrial Hardware in Anchorage, Ala., in his President's Message to STAFDA members said: "In today's business environment, being tech savvy and making the most of current technology is a must."

  • Hitachi names new sales exec

    Hitachi Power Tools has appointed Tim Hawkins as its director of home center sales for North American business, effective June 1. Hawkins previously served as director of outdoor power equipment for Hitachi Power Tools & Tanaka Power Equipment (a brand within the Hitachi Power Tools group). Prior to then, he was regional manager over the central United States for Hitachi. Hawkins first joined the company in 1998.

  • Haier names new heads of divisions

    New York City-based Haier America has announced the realignment of the company by creating a structure to be "fully integrated and aligned" under three main Product Business Divisions, the company announced. The Product Business Divisions will include Air Conditioning Group (ACG), White Goods Group (WGG), and Digital Products Group (DPG). 

  • HD Supply promotes exec

    HD Supply Facilities Maintenance has named Robin Soehl as its VP strategy and channel development. In this newly created position, Soehl will develop and implement an institutional strategy and drive all aspects of selling to government entities. She will lead the Federal Government and State, Local and Education (SLED) national accounts and field sales teams, as well as oversee contract compliance.
