The Virginia Beach Fire Department presented its Firefighter of the Year award, sponsored by STIHL, to Captain Scott M. Springer.
A ten-year veteran of the department, Springer has earned remarkable praise from his colleagues and those who know him around the community, staying humble as he continues to learn from others while lending a helping hand to those in need.
“The Virginia Beach Fire Department helps protect and improve the lives of those living in, and visiting our great city and we could not be more grateful,” said John Allen, product manager, STIHL Inc. The U.S. affiliate of the global STIHL Group is located in Virginia Beach.
This award is given to a firefighter that embraces and demonstrates the department’s core values, said STIHL. The Fire Department held its annual award ceremony in November at Landstown High School in Virginia Beach.
“As a company focused on creating and providing professional tools and solutions to help Springer and the Virginia Beach Fire Department in its mission, we look forward to continuing our relationship for years to come,” said Allen.
Since 1974, STIHL has been a member of the Hampton Roads community and says it is proud to support the vital work of local organizations such as the Virginia Beach Fire Department.
