The ribbon cutting included owners, their families, and team members who welcomed the community. “We’re not too big, not too small – we carry a little bit of everything,” said Patrick Hollis, co-owner.

Ace Hardware has opened a new location in Boonsboro, Maryland, a farm town of about 4,000 residents, located 60 miles west of Baltimore.

Patrick Hollis, one of the co-owners, speaking exclusively with HBSDealer, said, “it was a great turnout for the opening, more than 900 people came out.”

Hollis, along with his family and co-owner Pete Anderson, his father in law, and the third owner Caleb Hill, greeted customers throughout the opening weekend December 8-10.

During the three-day event, shoppers took part in a number of activities including grilling demos, meeting brand reps, taking part in giveaways and sale items, along with discount coupons, said the firm.

The store, which is 11,000 square feet, offers products such as: Stihl, Milwaukee, Benjamin Moore, Traeger, Weber, Blackstone and Dewalt.

The store also provides professional services, such as paint color matching, glass cutting, key cutting, propane filling, screen repairs and other services.

“This opening event was better than we expected,” said Hollis. “We’re here to help the community find what they need.”

Headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois, Ace Hardware describes itself as the largest retailer-owned hardware cooperative in the world, with more than 5,700 hardware stores.
