  • Marvin’s expands in Alabama

    Leeds, Alabama-based Marvin’s Building Materials and Home Centers is adding to its fleet of mid-sized home centers that serve the Southern home builder and the homeowner.

    The store in Ozark, Alabama, is currently under construction and is expected to open in the spring of 2015. When completed, the Alabama chain will operate 28 stores. The store will feature a 30,000-sq.-ft. home center in addition to an attached lawn and garden center and drive-through lumberyard.

  • BMC grows in northern California

    Boise, Idaho-based BMC, the building materials and construction services provider and 2012 HCN Pro Dealer of the Year, completed the acquisition of Sacramento-based Western Building Specialties.

    The move will expand BMC's millwork offerings in Northern California and strengthen the company's business in the Central Valley of California, a market described as a key U.S. market for homebuilders.

    Fiberon has announced its partnership with Monsma Marketing Corp., a Michigan-based building materials distributor serving the Midwest.

    Fiberon's PVC and composite decking, railing and fencing products will be distributed to lumberyards and home improvement centers in Michigan and Indiana, backed up by Monsma's 15 years of experience with distributing composite decking products.
