  • Meet the NRLA's new chair, Jonas Kelly

    Jonas Kelly, of JAY-K Independent Lumber Co. Inc, is now presiding over the NRLA as its 2014 chairman.

    Jonas is the grandson of JAY-K founder Joseph Kelly and has played an active role in the family business since the age of 13, interrupted only by his college years at Hobart College and year-long tenure at Somerville Lumber shortly thereafter.

  • Senator to address WDMA and NLBMDA

    The 2014 Spring Meeting & Legislative Conference, hosted by the Window & Door Manufacturers Association and the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association, will in include a presentation by Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.). 

    The conference takes place March 31-April 2 at the Hyatt Regency in Arlington, Va. It will include education, networking and the opportunity to visit Capitol Hill and lobby lawmakers.

  • Keith Campbell named to WFCA Hall of Fame

    Keith Campbell, the longtime Mannington Mills executive, will enter the World Floor Covering Association Hall of Fame. 

    Joining him in the posthumously is D. Christopher Davis, who became CEO of Western Floor Covering Association in 1994. Davis died in February 2012.

  • New chairman named at U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission

    Robert Adler was named acting chairman of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to fill a position vacated by former chairman Inez Tenenbaum. 

    Adler joined the CPSC, an agency that exerts tremendous influence over the consumer packaged goods and retail industries, in 2009 when he was appointed by president Barack Obama. Prior to his appointment Adler served on the Obama Transition Team and and co-authored a report on the CPSC for the administration.

  • Katigan named VP HR at Electrolux

    Electrolux Major Appliances North America named Julie Katigan as VP human resources. Katigan will oversee the company’s human resource function for all North American operations, including its nine manufacturing facilities.

  • Promotion at Superior Plastic

    The Lancaster County, Pa.-based company gives more responsibility to Amos Kauffman.
