  • Menards to take on Detroit

    Midwestern retailer Menards is planning four stores in the Detroit market, where it currently has no presence, according to an article in the Detroit News.

    Menards spokesman Jeff Abbott told the newspaper that the home improvement chain hopes to open stores in Warren, Livonia, Belleville and Chesterfield Township sometime next year.

  • The name ‘Yardworks’ officially taken by Menards

    The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) officially issued the trademark for a variety of Menards lawn and garden products.

    The Eau Claire, Wis.-based home center retailer filed its application Aug. 2, 2011, and was officially given the trademark March 20.

    The yard and lawn applications include lawn mowers, mechanical spreaders for seed and dry lawn chemicals, and mechanical lawn aerators. The brand also applies to power tools such as blowers, edgers, lawn trimmers and hedge shears.

    Medford, Wis.-based Crestline Windows and Doors has considerably expanded its stocked product offering at Menards stores in recent weeks, the company announced.

    Products now on the Midwest retailer’s shelves include several sizes and styles in the Select 200 Series, Select 250 Series and Select 300 Series.  Menards' customers can access all-vinyl patio doors and windows right from the retail floor, with special orders of other Crestline product lines, sizes and styles also available.
