McCoy’s Building Supply announced that it has finalized the purchase of 7.5 acres of land in Lubbock, Texas.
The prodealer and farm and ranch retail said it recently broke ground at the property and plans to open a new store at the site this year.
The building materials supplier is no stranger to this region of Texas.
“We had stores in Lubbock from 1971-1995 and are so excited to be coming back,” said Reid McCoy, McCoy’s vice-chair. “Lubbock holds a special place in my heart as my dad (retired CEO Brian McCoy), aunt, and uncles all attended Texas Tech.”
McCoy noted that the company currently serves several Lubbock builder customers through its Plainview, Texas location and looks forward to “serving builders and retail customers in Lubbock directly.”
McCoy’s employs more than 3,000 people and operates 85 stores, three distribution centers, and two millwork facilities in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
