At its recent Excellence in Leadership dinner, the Texas Association of Builders (TAB) presented McCoy’s Building Supply with its 2022 “Philanthropist of the Year” award.
“Through donations of building materials and time, communities can be strengthened, and a strong community is a worthwhile investment for all of us,” the TAB said in a press release.
According to the TAB, McCoy’s has supported military and veterans’ organizations, college students, youth organizations, and families in need of affordable housing.
As Texas’ population has increased, the cost of housing has grown substantially and affordable places to build homes have decreased, the association noted and said McCoy’s Building Supply has recognized this need.
The San Marcos, Texas-based prodealer and farm and ranch retailer most recently donated $1 million dollars to Habitat for Humanity to purchase land in five Texas counties to build new homes for disadvantaged families.
On its LinkedIn account, McCoy’s Building Supply posted a response to receiving the honor.
“What an incredible honor to recently be named 2022 Philanthropist of the Year by the Texas Association of Builders. It is our philosophy that through donations of building materials and time, communities can be strengthened, and a strong community is a worthwhile investment for all of us. We are blessed to give back and invest in 85 communities across 3 states while serving our customers,” the post reads.
McCoy’s operates 85 stores, 3 distribution centers, and 2 millwork facilities in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
In other news, the TAB installed its 2023 board of directors and senior officers while presenting several awards to other members of the Texas building community. Click here for more details.
