LMC announced that Rachel Hoops, B2B & component sales manager,  has been invited to join the Board of Directors of the Structural Building Components  Association (SBCA).

The move arrives after several years of a successful partnership between the two organizations, LMC said.

According to the forest products and building materials buying group, Hoops is set to provide a broad market perspective to the components industry and bring a  fresh set of eyes to tackle the challenges faced by the industry.

As an advocate for component shops, LMC said that Hoops is excited to join her fellow board members.

"My role at LMC has allowed me to successfully implement outside-the-box solutions that have benefited our cooperative," Hoops said. "I am excited to bring this same fresh perspective to  the SBCA and contribute to the growth and success of the components industry."

In recent years, the construction industry has seen a significant rise in the utilization of components. This trend has been especially prominent in the LMC network, where lumberyards have increasingly sought partnerships with component manufacturers.

Hoops has identified opportunities to educate LMC dealers on the advantages of these building elements, most recently collaborating with the SBCA to promote the use of open web floor trusses.

Established in 1983, the SBCA is an international trade association representing manufacturers of structural building components. Its membership includes truss plate suppliers, original equipment manufacturers and resellers, software companies, lumber suppliers, builders, and professional individuals in the fields of engineering, marketing, and management.

LMC, based in Wayne, Pennsylvania, represents more than 1,600 dealer locations in the United States and the Bahamas.
