LMC has promoted Paul Thorne vice president of business development.

In his new role, Thorne will oversee the Regional Manager team while leading their efforts to recruit new dealers and support relationships with existing dealers across all 50 states and the Bahamas.

Paul will replace Joel Gelb who is retiring after a distinguished  25-year career at LMC, the forest products and building materials buying group said.

Thorne joined LMC in 2004 as Northwest regional manager and quickly became the primary recruiter in that region as LMC expanded into the Mountain and Pacific time zones.

According to the Wayne, Pennsylvania-based buying group, Thorne's efforts have built a rich and lasting dealer network across the region, making him a leading voice with both new and existing dealers.

With 32 years of experience in the industry, Thorne brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role.

Before joining LMC, he managed retail lumberyards and handled sales and business development for a window manufacturing company in the Pacific Northwest.

LMC said that Thorne's appointment to his new position is a testament to its commitment to promoting talent from within and to providing exceptional service to its dealer network.

The dealer-member network at LMC includes more than 1,600 locations.
