LAT honors Meagan McCoy Jones

The Lumbermen’s Association of Texas (LAT) announced that Meagan McCoy Jones, president and CEO at McCoy’s Building Supply and  Co-Chair of LAT’s Legislative Committee, is its 2023 Texas Unity Dinner honoree.  

“Meagan’s tenacity advocating for our industry has amplified and strengthened our voice at the  Texas Capitol,” said Peyton Ritter, president of LAT Board of Directors and president at Ritter  Lumber in Nederland, Texas. “She mobilizes and energizes our members to tell their story and  we are thrilled that she is our 2023 Texas Unity Dinner Honoree.” 

LUMPAC, LAT’s state political action committee, supports political candidates who are key to the success of LAT’s state policy agenda. 

The 2023 Texas Unity Dinner is a LUMPAC fundraiser and will take place on Tuesday, June 20 at The Briscoe Western Art Museum in San Antonio,  Texas. Event details and sponsorships are available at www.lat.org.

“I am very appreciative of being chosen as the Texas Unity Dinner honoree,” said Jones. “It is  an honor to build on decades of hard work and advocacy by the LAT membership to ensure that  our state’s leaders understand the role our industry plays in job creation and growing  communities and families.” 

The LUMPAC trustees are Carl Detering, The Detering Company; Greg Evans, Redwoods Inc.;  Clay Epstein, Dr. Ike’s Home Center; Walter Foxworth; Jerry Lightfoot, Orange County Building  Materials; Randy Meek, Eastside Lumber & Decking; Jimmy Pate, Pate’s Hardware Inc.; and Allan  Ritter, Ritter Lumber.

The LAT said the trustees guide LUMPAC’s political donations in Texas’ state legislative races. 

Founded in 1886, the Lumbermen’s Association of Texas (LAT) is a non-profit trade association representing the entire Texas lumber and building materials supply chain including,  lumberyards and building material dealers, manufacturers, distributors, and service providers.  To learn more about us visit lat.org.

In 1927 Frank McCoy moved his family and a small contract roofing business from the big city of  Houston to Galveston, Texas, and the McCoy Roofing Company was born.

Today, under a  fourth generation of family leadership, McCoy’s Building Supply operates 85 retail building supply locations with full-service lumberyards, two millwork facilities, and two internal distribution centers in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.

The company is based in San Marcos, Texas. McCoy’s customer base includes do-it-yourselfers, farmers and ranchers, repair and remodel contractors, and independent home builders.
