LAT beefs up board
LAT, a nonprofit trade association that represents Texas’ building materials industry, announced today that four industry leaders have joined its board of directors: Mark Chatfield, president at DOMAN Lumber, Jerry Lightfoot, vice president at Orange County Building Materials, Lynn Noesser, general manager at BlueLinx Corporation and Charles Pool, general manager at Main Street Lumber.
“I’m grateful for these exceptional industry leaders and for their willingness to serve,” said Kate Woodson Borroni, human resources and principal at Woodson Lumber Company in Caldwell, Texas. “They are dedicated volunteers with a passion for the LAT membership, and I look forward to collaborating with them to protect our industry and strengthen our member businesses.”
“This role is an opportunity to elevate our industry and advance public policy that supports a strong Texas economy,” said Mark Chatfield, president at DOMAN Lumber. “LAT is a powerful, steady force for our industry—the place where we pool resources and talents to speak with one voice. It is an honor to join this group of directors who I admire and respect.”
Chatfield is also a member of LAT’s Legislative Committee, the group of members that will bring forward LAT’s 2025 Public Policy Agenda. “With a third generation of our family engaged at our lumberyards, I’m fortunate to be able to invest time to ensure our industry’s continued success,” said Jerry Lightfoot, VP at Orange County Building Materials. “I can’t think of a better place to do that, and I look forward to working with my fellow Directors to make sure we continue to be a LAT that solves problems and brings solutions to its members.” Lightfoot is also a LUMPAC trustee and has been instrumental in positioning the organization for its recent legislative successes by helping it build relationships with legislative leaders.
“I am passionate about LAT’s mission to protect and advocate for the Texas building materials industry,” said Lynn Noesser, general manager at BlueLinx Corporation. “To join this group of dedicated leaders is an honor and I look forward to continuing to grow our membership as it takes every single one of us to keep our industry strong.”
Noesser serves on LAT’s Audit & Investment Committee and has extended his relationships to bring others to the Association. “I see the work LAT does to advocate for our industry as mission critical for our business,” said Charles Pool, general manager at Main Street Lumber. “From tackling frivolous lawsuits to fighting over regulation, I’m excited to roll-up my sleeves and work with my fellow Directors to amplify our industry’s voice.”
Pool is a member of LAT’s Legislative Committee where he champions pro-business public policy and has been cultivating legislative relationships. Borroni is in year two of her role as President of the LAT Board of Directors. Changes in the Executive Committee include Cason Shrode, CEO at Cassity Jones Building Materials moving to the First Vice President role and Jammy Pate, president at Pate’s Hardware, joining the group as Second Vice President. LAT’s Board of Directors approved the slate of 2024 – 2025 directors during its summer meeting. The new directors will be recognized at the 138th LAT Convention & Expo September 23-25, 2024, in Arlington, Texas.
