  • Moen unveils eco-friendly showerhead

    Moen has announced its Moen Caldwell Four-Function Eco-Performance Showerhead, which has a flow rate of 2.0 gallons per minute (gpm), 20% less than the industry standard of 2.5 gpm. It also meets the Environmental Protection Agency's WaterSense criteria.

  • In Texas, Imagine Homes teams with Dow

    Dow Powerhouse announced a major new collaboration with Imagine Homes, a San Antonio-based home builder, to offer Dow Powerhouse Solar Shingle roof system to all new home buyers in Imagine Homes' six San Antonio-area residential communities.

    Additionally, Dow Powerhouse will be a standard feature on all homes in the Willis Ranch community, scheduled to open in September 2012.

    UL Environment, a business unit of UL (Underwriters Laboratories), has announced that appliance manufacturer Whirlpool Corp. has become the first company in the marketplace to achieve certification of its products to the new AHAM-CSA-UL sustainability standard for household refrigeration appliances.

  • Solar solutions packaged for N.C. homeowners

    Homeowners seeking lower utility bills in North Carolina have a new option, according to vendors making it happen. 

    Solar-powered electricity and hot water, along with efficient thermostat controls, are all being wrapped into a single package, under to a new partnership between three companies: Meritage Homes, EchoFirst solar systems and Southern Energy Management (SEM).

    The deal marks the first time Echo technology has been deployed in the eastern United States.

  • Dunn-Edwards factory wins 'Best Project'

    Dunn-Edwards, the Southwest manufacturer of premium paint, received a Real Estate and Development (RED) Award from the Arizona Commercial Real Estate (AZRE) for Best Industrial Project for its new 336,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility.

    The 7th Annual RED Awards recognize the most notable commercial real estate projects of 2011 and the construction teams involved. AZRE held an open call for nominations and a record 116 projects were submitted by architects, contractors, developers and brokerage firms in Arizona.
