Foundation Building Materials completes three acquisitions

The latest round of moves from FBM brings the distributor 11 locations in 5 states.

Foundation Building Materials operates more than 300 locatoins in the United States and Canada.

Foundation Building Materials (FBM), the Santa Ana, California-based building products distributor with more than 300 locations in the United States and Canada, announced that it has completed three acquisitions.

The move brings FBM 11 additional branches in 5 states.

FBM has acquired A&D Supply LLC and Studs Unlimited LLC, which includes three locations in Oklahoma, two in Arkansas, and one branch in Tennessee. A&D Supply has been family owned and operated through 3 generations since 1974.  

A&D Supply distributes drywall, steel framing, Armstrong ceilings, insulation and general building materials.  Owner George Hughes III and the A&D Leadership Team will continue with the business as new members of the FBM Team.

A&D Oklahoma City is one of Armstrong’s oldest distribution partnerships and the two Oklahoma branches are FBM’s first branches in that state, the distributor said. The FBM/A&D branches in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas will be part of FBM’s Central Region and the Nashville, Tennessee will be part of its Southeast Region.

The acquisition of Henrietta Building Supplies Inc. and  HBS Building Supplies Inc. includes two locations in  two locations in the Rochester and Buffalo, New York markets.

Henrietta Building Supplies (HBS) was started in 1970 by Dick Ski who has continued to run the business for the past 53 years. Henrietta Building Supplies is a specialty distributor of commercial and residential building products including drywall, steel framing, USG ceilings, insulation, EIFS and general building products.  HBS also has a doors, frames and hardware facility that distributes through the branches in both Rochester and Buffalo.

Dick Ski and his leaders will continue with the business and join the FBM team and its Northeast Region. 

KCI Doors and Hardware started in 1993 and is a supplier of doors, frames and hardware in the Phoenix, Arizona market.  KCI is led by owner Kris Kurce who will continue with the business. KCI distributes both steel and wood commercial doors along with frames and several brands of hardware.

The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed by FBM. 

Foundation Building Materials distributes drwyall, steel studs, acoustic ceilings, and related construction supplies.
