Floor & Decor subsidiary acquires Salesmaster Flooring Solutions

Floor & Decor’s wholly owned subsidiary Spartan Surfaces has acquired Salesmaster Flooring Solutions.

Based in Deer Park, New York, Salesmaster Flooring Solutions is a flooring and installation supplies distributor servicing the Northeast. The company has about 80 employees and will operate as part of Spartan Services.

“I’ve admired Salesmaster’s business for years,” said Kevin Jablon, CEO of Spartan Surfaces. “Their unmatched flooring contractor relationships, coupled with their know-how of navigating the New York metro area and winning culture, has always stood out in the industry.”

The transaction closed June 7 and is not expected to have a material impact on Floor & Decor’s fiscal 2023 second quarter or full year 2023 financial results.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“Combining the companies is an exciting milestone in Spartan’s business and significantly expands our presence in the large and highly fragmented New York City and New England markets,” Jablon added.

Spartan Surfaces is a specialty flooring distribution company headquartered in Bel Air, Maryland, with showrooms in Washington, D.C.; Chicago; and Minneapolis. Floor & Decor acquired Spartan Surfaces in May 2021.

Atlanta-based Floor & Decor is a rapidly growing specialty retailer of hard-surface flooring. The company operates more than 200 stores and 5 design studios in 36 states.

Shortly after the opening of its 200th location in New Orleans last month, Floor & Decor followed with two more store openings in Florida.
