Floor & Decor reaches milestone opening
Just days removed from announcing that it was approaching a milestone, Floor & Decor has kept its word.
The rapidly rising home improvement retailer has opened its 200th location.
This also marks the home improvement retailer’s fourth store in Louisiana and its second location in the New Orleans metro market. The Atlanta, Georgia-based company opened its first New Orleans store in August 2009.
Located on Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Metairie, Louisiana, the warehouse-style store is already open to the public with a May 11 ribbon-cutting ceremony planned.
“We are so excited to expand our footprint in Louisiana and to celebrate this 200th store milestone in Metairie,” said Tom Taylor, CEO of Floor & Decor. “We are eager to get to know the pro customers and the homeowners in the area. We look forward to welcoming everyone into our store and helping them turn their vision into reality.”
On May 4, Floor & Decor reported that its first quarter sales increased 9.1% to $1.12 billion from first quarter 2022 sales of $1.03 billion.
In conjunction with the financial report, Floor & Decor said it was targeting the opening of 32 to 35 new locations during the fiscal year. The retailer has already opened 8 new locations this year.
In the last 30 days, Floor & Decor opened its 10th store in the Atlanta market and its 7th Washington, D.C. area store in Aspen Hill, Maryland, along with openings in Temple, Texas, and Madison, Alabama. At the end of its first quarter, Floor & Decor operated 194 warehouse stores and five design studios.
Founded in 2000, Floor & Decor stores offer homeowners and pros a wide, in-stock selection of natural wood, natural stone, laminate, and luxury vinyl plank. Stores also carry tools, decorative materials, wall tile, and related accessories for hard-surface flooring projects.
Along with special giveaways and festivities, Floor & Decor offered a VIP Grand Opening event on May 10.
During the event, professional customers met the PRO Services Team, interacted with supplier representatives, and learned about Floor & Decor’s PRO Partners services and Pro Premier Rewards program.
