Floor & Decor closes out with 6 openings
Similar to how Floor & Decor ended 2022, the home improvement retailer closed out 2023 with a barrage of store openings.
For the final month of 2023, Floor & Decor opened 6 new locations. In the final week of 2022, the Atlanta-based company opened four new stores. And in November of 2023, Floor & Decor launched four new stores, including three in New Jersey openings (Avenel, Ocean Township, and Princeton).
Among its latest stores to wrap up the year are openings in Springfield, New Jersey and Port Chester, New York, which marked the retailer’s 12th and 13th locations in the metro New York market. A Manassas opening is the company’s 7th in the DMV market.
At the end of its third quarter 2023, Floor & Decor operates 307 stores. While discussing the company’s third quarter results in November, company CEO Tom Tayor reaffirmed that the retailer would open 32 stores in its fiscal year. This includes 15 openings in the fourth quarter, which has yet to end.
With each new opening in 2023, Floor & Decor continued to make its pitch to pro customers, including architects, builders, contractors, and remodelers. In 2024, the retailer looks to dial-up its efforts.
Anne Lezotte, spokesperson for Floor & Decor, told HBSDealer that the retailers is “leaning into our PRO Education program.” This means adding more workshops with the National Tile Contractors Association as well as launching a new partnership with the National Wood Flooring Association to provide training for pros on the wood side of the business.
“We are also adding classes to our PRO Webinar library, an online resource that pros can access in both English and Spanish, to take their product knowledge and installation skills to the next level,” Lezotte said and noted that the home improvement destination continues to offer pro customers their own pro and commercial financing options, including a refreshed and relaunched pro credit card.
“In addition, we highly encourage our pros to take advantage of our free design services where they can get expert design help for all of their customers’ needs,” Lezotte said.
Regarding homeowners and DIYers, Lezotte said they “can continue to expect great customer service and extremely knowledgeable associates who truly care about them and their projects.”
