Do it Best names Member Operational Excellence Manager
Do it Best is bolstering its Lumber and Building Materials (LBM) offering with the addition of a dedicated Member Operational Excellence Manager. This new role, according to the company, will provide members with hands-on expertise to streamline operations, enhance productivity, and provide profitability in their home centers, lumberyards, and manufacturing components.
To lead this initiative, Do it Best has hired Scott Morrison, an industry expert with deep experience in process optimization, facility layout design and manufacturing efficiency. Do it Best says its members and dealers can seek out Morrison on a project-by-project basis, leveraging his expertise to streamline operations and boost profitability.
Morrison's work will include:
- Conducting truss plant and door shop manufacturing efficiency assessments.
- Evaluating and optimizing lumberyard layouts for improved productivity.
- Designing layouts for new lumberyards and manufacturing facilities.
- Identifying and eliminating operational bottlenecks through data-driven analysis.

In direct support of members, Morrison will also lead business process optimization initiatives, including quote-to-cash analysis, benchmarking, and improving information flow across organizations. Additionally, he will develop and deliver educational programs, including LEAN events, Market seminars, and roundtable discussions.
