Dixie Plywood & Lumber names new national accounts rep
Dixie Plywood & Lumber, aka DixiePly, has named Chelsea Walden as its new national accounts representative for the Southeast.
A former sales rep for the Florida market, Walden has worked for the company since 2018 while specializing in marketing, promotions, and customer service.
The newly created role signals changes in customer expectations regarding how distributors go to market, DixiePly said. As the frequency of mergers and acquisitions in the building supply industry increases, strengthening customer relationships at all levels is paramount to maintaining market share.
The new position allows Dixie Plywood & Lumber to strengthen connections and build bridges between local businesses and corporate offices, the company said.
“We recognized the need to expand our presence in front of multiple national accounts,” said Tom Heard, director of marketing at Dixie Plywood & Lumber. “Chelsea’s role was created to address that need. We’re excited to watch our progress on the national account front as a result and look forward to watching Chelsea’s success.
Established in 1944, Dixie Plywood & Lumber is a wholesale supplier of building products, serving the southeast region of the US. With corporate headquarters in Savanah, Georgia, the company operates 11 branches, including 5 in Florida.
In 2019, Dixie Plywood established an ESOP program and is 100% employee-owned.
