Boise Cascade's BMD division has made two branch moves in recent weeks.

Boise Cascade Company’s Building Materials Distribution (BMD) division has completed the purchase of a 20-acre property in Modesto, California.

The Company’s current operations in Lathrop, California, will relocate to the new facility, which includes office space, 190,000 square feet of enclosed warehouse space, and is served by rail.

“We are very excited to join the Modesto community,” said Bill Carr, branch manager. “This move will better enable us to serve our entire market today as well as put us in a fantastic position for the future.”

“The purchase in Modesto aligns with our growth strategy in the markets we currently serve to expand product depth and service for our customers,” added Jo Barney, senior vice president of BMD Western Operations.

Last month, the BMD division purchased a new 120,000 sq. ft. warehouse and distribution facility in West Palm Beach, Florida. The total property is 9.7 acres and will provide additional storage and service capacity for the Pompano Beach branch.

In October, Boise Cascade also finalized its $172 million acquisition of New England building products distributor Brockway-Smith Company (BROSCO).
