Beacon expands in Nevada
Roofing and building products distributor Beacon has acquired Silver State Building Materials.
Located in Gardnerville, Nevada, Silver State is a second-generation family business, that has served the South Lake Tahoe and Reno markets with residential roofing and complementary products for more than 30 years.
“Tourism and natural beauty continue to drive growth in this market. Our customers will appreciate the service model that Beacon offers, and our employees are excited to join a values-driven team,” Derick and Kelly Peterson, owners of Silver State, said in a prepared statement issued today by Beacon.
The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed by Beacon.
“We are very pleased to welcome Silver State customers and employees,” said Nevin Holly, Beacon regional vice president, Pacific. “Our focus for the next chapter of this business will be on the customer experience, including tools like Beacon PRO+ to help our contractors build more."
This year, Beacon has expanded its national presence through the opening of five new locations along with four acquisitions. This includes the opening of a new branch in Gulfport, Mississippi last month.
Based in Herndon, Virginia, Beacon operates more than 490 branches in the United States and Canada.
Last month Beacon also reported that its first quarter sales reached a new company record, rising 2.7% to $1.73 billion.
The company also recently issued its 2022 Corporate Social Responsibility report.
