84 Lumber is continuing its 2021 expansion plans and announced that its latest, dedicated truss plant has opened in Statesville, N.C.
The 34,000-square-foot component plant primarily manufactures roof trusses and floor trusses.
Fully automated, the facility is outfitted with the latest design software, computerized saws, a trackless gantry system and laser projection equipment.
The facility opened at the end of June with 15 associates and plans to grow to 30 associates by the end of the year.
“With this new truss plant, we will now be able to fill the need for engineered and manufactured wood products across the Charlotte metropolitan area,” said Rory ONeill, area manager for 84 Lumber Components. “The facility will allow us to grow and strengthen our partnerships with new and existing customers.”
84 Lumber said that component manufacturing is an important part its business. The company has invested substantially in opening new facilities and upgrading equipment at existing locations over the past five years.
As the company continues to expand its presence nationwide, it also expects to create component facilities within several planned new 84 Lumber stores.
