YBC acquires Palmerton Lumber

Your Building Centers (YBC) has acquired Palmerton Lumber Company located in Palmerton, Pa., 

Palmerton is a full-line lumber and building material provider. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The acquisition is the third in four years for YBC. The dealer said the move allows more Pennsylvania residents to benefit from being an Employee Owner and allowing YBC to grow in the Pennsylvania market.

Palmerton Lumber was founded in 1995 by Andy Pisulak who passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 20, 2021.  

Steven Pisulak, Andy’s son, said that YBC is a great fit for Palmerton Lumber and for the employees of Palmerton Lumber. He knows that his father would be very proud knowing that the acquisition of Palmerton Lumber has been completed, YBC said.

YBC now operates 17 locations in central Pennsylvania. The dealer serves contractors, builders, remodelers, and do-it-yourselfers. YBC and its predecessor companies have been in business since the early 1900s.  Along with 13 YBC-branded locations, the company operates as Berlin Lumber in Berlin, Klinger Lumber in Elizabethville, Robert G. Miller in Hanover and now adding Palmerton Lumber Company in Palmerton.  

YBC also owns and operates two manufacturing facilities: Keystone Truss & Manufacturing in Beech Creek & Berlin Lumber & Truss in Berlin.  All YBC companies are located within the state of Pennsylvania.

YBC employs around 375 people and is the largest Pennsylvania employee-owned lumber and building material supplier.
