Westlake Ace has announced plans to acquire Trails West Ace Hardware in Gardner, Kansas.
“Trails West Ace has an outstanding tradition of customer service in Gardner,” said Joe Jeffries, president and CEO of Westlake Ace Hardware.
“We look forward to continuing that tradition and showing our new neighbors how Westlake Ace lives the Ace ‘Helpful Promise’ every day by delivering reliable service, helpful advice, and products to help them get their projects done right,” said Jeffries.
When the sale is finalized on January 15, 2023, said Westlake Ace, it will own 30 retail hardware locations in Kansas.
“For the past 11 years, it has been an honor to serve the needs of the Gardner community,” said Gavin Barmby, owner of Trails West Ace Hardware.
“With the upcoming retirement of our long-term General Manager Rex Cummings, I have determined it is in our best interest to sell the store to Westlake Ace Hardware,” said the owner.
The store will be rebranded as Westlake Ace Hardware, but it will be a seamless transition of ownership and the store will retain management, store personnel, and much of the current product mix.
“We are very confident that Westlake Ace will be good stewards of the store and will continue our tradition of great customer service,” said Barmby.
That product mix, said the firm, includes such leading brands as Benjamin Moore and Magnolia paint, Weber and Traeger grills, Scotts lawncare products, Ego, Toro and Stihl outdoor equipment, DeWalt and Craftsman power tools, and Yeti coolers and drinkware.
Headquartered in the Kansas City area, 117-year-old Westlake Ace currently owns and operates more than 150 stores in 12 states.
