Westlake Ace to bring 31st store to Kansas City area

Overland Park, Kansas, will be the location, with an opening planned for Q2 2024.

“The new Overland Park store will be located in an established and vibrant part of the metro area,” said Joe Jeffries, president and CEO of Ace Retail Holdings, the parent company of Westlake Ace Hardware.

Westlake Ace Hardware announced it has signed an agreement to open a new store in Overland Park, Kansas, near Kansas City, this will be its 31st store in the region.

“Kansas City is our home, so it’s always a thrill to open a new store here,” said Joe Jeffries, president and CEO of Ace Retail Holdings, the parent company of Westlake Ace Hardware.

The company said the store will be located in the former Sears Home & Life – in The Fountains Shopping Center – and the new Westlake Ace store will feature approximately 12,000 square feet of retail space. A soft opening is tentatively planned for the second quarter of 2024.

“We are excited to show our new neighbors and customers how we live the Ace Helpful Promise every day by delivering reliable service, helpful advice, and the products they need to get their projects done right,” said Jeffries.

In addition to offering such services as key cutting, automotive key fob replacement, and propane tank exchange, said the firm, the store will sell lawn and garden supplies, fasteners, tools, plumbing and electrical supplies.

The new store will also feature several specialty departments and store-within-a-store concepts, selling such brands as: Benjamin Moore, STIHL, DeWalt, Craftsman, Weber and more.

Westlake Ace is headquartered in the Kansas City area and has been part of the Ace Hardware Cooperative since 1959, and currently owns and operates more than 155 stores in 12 states.
